In 1985, at the age of 17, I successfully passed the initial
examination, granting me permission to operate exclusively on
frequencies above the HF band. Two years later, in 1987, at the
age of 19, I achieved the highest level of Italian amateur radio
licensing with proficiency in CW for regular operations. In 1988,
I received the callsign IK4LZH. My journey into amateur radio
continued as I established my own radio station in 1989. By 1990,
I had installed a remarkable Klm KT34XA antenna, equipped with six
elements spanning three different bands. Initially, I operated
using a Kenwood TS440, and later, I upgraded to a Kenwood TS950S.
Along the way, I explored packet radio technology, using
Kantronics equipment. Notably, I also developed and managed the
QSL Info System, a user-friendly platform accessible on HF and VHF
frequencies, designed for the collection and retrieval of QSL card
information. This system served the amateur radio community
faithfully from 1991 to 1996.
Since 2018, I have been actively involved in the organization of
WRTC2022, serving on the board, and as of 2023, I have taken on
the role of president. Additionally.
